The Return of Bed Bath & Beyond: A Home Store Revival in Nashville

A Brand Reimagined

After the original Bed Bath & Beyond chain shuttered in mid‑2023, its trademarks and customer goodwill were acquired by Beyond, Inc. (formerly Overstock.com). In collaboration with Nashville‑headquartered retailer Kirkland’s, now rebranded as The Brand House Collective, the company is reigniting the iconic brand in a fresh, modern footprint

Launch Plans

The first Bed Bath & Beyond Home location is set to open on August 8, 2025, in Brentwood, TN, within the Greater Nashville area—chosen strategically to allow local oversight and to set a benchmark for future expansion. That initial location will be followed by five more store conversions in the Nashville region later in the year. Overall, the rollout aims to rebrand up to 75 stores nationwide by the end of 2026, with an emphasis on converting existing Kirkland’s Home stores into BB&B Home locations.

Store Format & Merchandise

These are not your typical big‑box outlets. Instead, neighborhood-style stores roughly 7,000–15,000 sq ft will be curated with home décor, small furniture, textiles, and housewares—reflecting both Bed Bath & Beyond legacy brands and Kirkland’s merchandising strengths. The new layout focuses on intimate, lifestyle-driven shopping rather than sheer volume.

Coupons & Opening Day Perks

To reconnect with loyal customers, legacy Bed Bath & Beyond coupons will be honored at the new Nashville store, and fresh coupons will also be offered to first-time visitors. As a grand opening bonus, the first 25 customers making a purchase will receive a 10″ memory foam queen mattress (valued at $226.99)

Strategic Vision & Brand Transformation

This revival forms part of a broader transformation by Kirkland’s, now The Brand House Collective, which is consolidating underperforming locations, converting many into Bed Bath & Beyond Home or Overstock stores, and closing the rest, targeting a leaner and more profitable store footprint (~290 locations). Beyond, Inc. holds a significant investment in the strategy, bringing digital expertise, loyalty programs, and a refreshed consumer data approach to the table.
